A Lions International Pakistan Delegation
consisting of 225 members visited several
European Countries in August to highligt
the Kashmir issue.
Talking to The Consul, a senior member
of the delegation,Ch.Sultan Mehmood
Chairman PHMA (Punjab & KPK) and
President INSAF BUSINESS FORUM P.T.I,
Lahore, said that it was a very fruitful visit
and helped in projecting a good image of
Pakistan,
The delegations went to Italy. Austria,
Switzerland, Germany,Holland,
Spain,England, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium,
France, Norway, Scotland, Ireland and
France and made the people there aware
of the stand of Pakistan on the Kashmir
issue and the atrocities committed by India
against the people of occupied Kashmir.
Ch Sultan Mehnood informed that he
also met the Scotland First Minister
(Prime Minister)Lady Nicola Sturgeon and
discussed the issue of Kashmir with her.
The Scottish Prime Minister said that India
should resolve this issue through bilateral
talk with Pakistan.She said that due to
India’s unilateral action tension in South
Asia had risen and there was danger of war
which must be avoided at all costs.
She expressed positive opinion about
Pakistan and had good words to say about
businessmen doing business in Scotland.
Ch Sultan said that the meeting took place
on Eid day and the Scottish Prime Minister
took part in Eid festivities.
Giving his overall impression of European
tour Ch Sultan said that there was complete
rule of law in Europe which was the secret
of their success. People there live simply
and even ministers travel by bus and public
transport. The European governments
provide their citizens education, health,
transport and other facilities. He said that
by following these examples Pakistan can
also become a great country
